We are pleased to announce that Veronica Morrow-Reel has been elected as the Vice-President of the Riverview Gardens School Board, effective July 1, 2024!
Veronica, dedicated CRA and HOPE Loan Officer Assistant at CNB, is passionate about economic development and financial literacy. She uses her role to promote homeownership and community revitalization, ensuring that opportunities for financial success are accessible to all. Her ongoing engagement in seminars and workshops proves her dedication to community leadership, economic development, and educational equity. Veronica's expertise and continued support in community leadership and equitable housing initiatives makes her a valuable addition to the school board.
This appointment coincides with the district's transition back to local control. Before her election, Ms. Morrow-Reel was a distinguished member of the 3-person Special Administrative Board appointed by the Missouri State Board of Education. This board played a crucial role in elevating Riverview Gardens from unaccredited to provisionally accredited status. The district is now poised to achieve full accreditation. Given these accomplishments, the Missouri State Board of Education has determined that the continued oversight by the Special Administrative Board is no longer necessary. Veronica will conclude her successful tenure as President of this board on June 30, 2024.
Veronica gives it her all when it comes to dedication, generosity, and passion for those in the community and around her. She embodies selflessness, always putting others' needs before her own. From organizing charity events, to volunteering her time during the week and weekends, Veronica’s commitment to making a positive impact knows no bounds. Her light for helping others is contagious, inspiring those around her to join in creating a better world. Whether it's mentoring youth, advocating for social justice, or simply lending a helping hand, Veronica’s light shines bright, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.
Since 2000, Veronica has been an active member of the Riverview Gardens School District Community. Starting in 2001 at LeMasters Elementary School, she contributed to drafting a successful grant proposal that provided food and childcare, boosting parental involvement in school activities. Over the years, she’s volunteered extensively as part of the Parent Teacher Organization, ensuring fair treatment and inclusion for disabled students, and has supported the Speech, Drama, and Debate team financially, assisting with meals and attire for their competitions. In her previous role, Veronica served as Vice President for her second term, while remaining dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities within the school district.
